Luckily, when a caster’s spell backfires against them, it only leaves scars in their magical field, or aura, instead of their physical body. A caster is protected from their own magic. But it can still knock you unconscious, or even break bones, due to the physical force of the backfire.

Having people in the party who can manipulate thaumic particles into water is really helpful. Especially if you’re accustomed to bathing every day. (It does not work with complex things like food, though. Water is easy. It’s two elements. But summoning, say, a bacon sandwich would require so many components, it could take years of trial and error, memorizing complex strains of amino acids, etc, it just isn’t worth the bother.)
It’s a good thing for Niki that, like Taurs, Elves are communal bathers. There’s only so far a Centaur can reach with a scrub brush.

This is gonna go over reeeal well with Rowena.
Though to be honest, going on long journeys before official adulthood, whether for more specialized training or just for the sake of broadening the mind, was still a common practice when Rowena was younger. Then Romani and Perdwat started invading from both sides and the Minotaurs started causing trouble and the Satyrs decided they didn’t like people anymore and closed off their borders, and the practice died. But she worries about her little girl, even if her little girl is perfectly capable of handling herself.

And we’re back! FInally. Alexey, you do not have the authority to appoint new party members. But since when do wizards follow any authority besides their own?
